V-Green Collaboration to Build 60 Thousand VinFast Charging Stations, $300 Million Investment
V-Green, an international developer of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, has agreed to invest a total of US$300 million with four partners to build approximately 63,000 dedicated charging ports for VinFast electric vehicles in Indonesia by the end of 2025, doubling the initial target.
The four partners are Chargecore, Chargepoint, Amarta Group, and CVS. Through this collaboration, V-Green affirms its commitment to expanding the VinFast EV ecosystem in Southeast Asia and demonstrates the company's growing credibility and appeal. The first stations under this project are scheduled to go live this coming June. VinFast electric vehicle charging stations will be located in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, Batam, Bali, and Kalimantan.
V-Green Indonesia Managing Director Mai Truong Giang stated that this partnership is part of V-Green's global EV charging network strategy, especially given the continued rise in demand in Southeast Asia. "With the support of our strategic partners, we are confident that V-GREEN and VinFast will successfully build a modern green mobility ecosystem that contributes to sustainable development goals in the region and globally," said Mai Truong Giang.
Since entering the Indonesian market, V-Green has implemented a BCC model with trusted local companies. The company offers a specially designed investment scheme, including an electricity purchase rate of IDR 750/kWh and a guaranteed annual return of up to 25 percent for the first three years.
Through this strategic collaboration, V-Green can rapidly expand its EV charging network in Indonesia, while highlighting the strong potential of the country's green transportation sector.
Chargecore Co-founder and CEO John Yan expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with V-Green, which he believes has a clear vision, strong commitment, and a mature EV infrastructure development strategy in Indonesia. "This partnership will not only deliver strong business results for Chargecore, but also support the national transition to electric vehicles and a more sustainable future," he said.
At the same event, Chargepoint CEO Daniel Nguyen stated that Chargepoint believes electric vehicles in Indonesia have high potential. As a promising market, Indonesia is undergoing a remarkable transformation toward greener transportation. "As the official distributor of V-GREEN in Vietnam, Chargepoint is proud to continue supporting the expansion of the VinFast electric mobility ecosystem in Southeast Asia, with Indonesia as our first destination. This is a clear demonstration of our long-term commitment and regional vision as a Vietnamese company in the green transportation sector," said Daniel Nguyen.
Founded by VinFast founder Pham Nhat Vuong, V-Green leads Vietnam with approximately 150,000 charging ports. The company continues to expand its network through partnerships and is now actively expanding into international markets. In Indonesia alone, V-Green has quickly gained the trust of both local and international partners. The company targets the construction of 50,000 charging stations and a total of 63,000 charging ports nationwide by 2025. As a first step, VinFast vehicle owners can charge for free at 1,000 stations operated by V-Green starting this May.
Currently, VinFast has launched four electric car models—the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, and VF e34—within one year of entering Indonesia. The rapid expansion of V-Green's charging network is believed to support efforts to meet the growing demand for VinFast electric cars in the market, provide convenience for local consumers, and contribute to global sustainable development goals.
